On July 10th, renowned transfer expert Romano announced with his characteristic phrase "Here we go" that Modric would join AC Milan as a free agent and the two sides would sign a one-year contract.

The transfer deal of this Croatian midfield superstar has now been finalized. Modric has officially signed a one-year contract with AC Milan. He will officially join the Rossoneri team as per the prearranged plan after the Club World Cup event concludes. 

This morning, Modric came on as a substitute in the World Club Cup semi-final where Real Madrid lost 0-4 to Paris. It was his final performance for Real Madrid. 

Modric joined Real Madrid in 2012 and played for the team for 13 years, appearing in 597 matches and scoring 43 goals while providing 95 assists. He helped the team win 28 trophies: 6 Champions League titles, 6 Club World Cup titles, 5 UEFA Super Cup titles, 4 La Liga titles, 2 King's Cup titles and 5 Spanish Super Cup titles. 

After winning the Champions League with Real Madrid in the 2017-18 season, he once again broke the dominance of Messi and Ronaldo with his outstanding performance as the key player of the Russian World Cup亚军 team. He became the first player other than Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo to win the Ballon d'Or since Kaká in 2007.
